Community Acupuncture with Adrianna Locke, MAc, L.Ac
- Friday from 12:00-3:00 pm
- Saturday from 12:00-4:00 pm
What is community acupuncture? Acupuncture is the practice of inserting tiny sterile needles under the skin at specific points in order to stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself. Community acupuncture takes place in group settings, usually in reclining chairs. Patients are able to remain fully clothed and to share and build collective energy that helps with healing.
Does it hurt? Acupuncture is very personal–some people feel no discomfort, others fall asleep during a treatment, and some may experience some mild tingling. There’s no way to know how your body will react until you try it, though treatment should never be uncomfortable.
Provider bio: Adrianna Locke has a long history of working in healthcare accessibility using traditional Chinese medicine modalities. With a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the National University of Natural Medicine, she has worked in community clinics around Portland, Oregon with houseless populations as well as drug and alcohol detox clinics.
