The Oregon Community Health Worker Association (ORCHWA) is seeking a dynamic, experienced and highly organized Operations/Office Manager to join our team. This position supports ORCHWA’s administrative activities and serves as a key role in operational outcomes and efficiency.

Organization Overview

The Oregon Community Health Workers Association (ORCHWA) is a non-profit association dedicated to serving as a unified voice to amplify and advocate for and with community health workers across the state of Oregon. Our work and values are centered on social justice, promotion of community health and are rooted in anti-oppressive practices.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations/Office Manager supports ORCHWA’s administrative activities and serves as a key role in operational outcomes and efficiency. The Operations/Office Manager will work closely and collaboratively with the Finance Manager on accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and will coordinate all staff benefits and compliance, contract development, and overall administrative duties and operational function of ORCHWA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager on AP/AR, in compliance with fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Day to day processing of administrative matters.
  • Coordinate and schedule training for staff development and annual reviews.
  • Provide administrative support Board of Directors.
  • Attend meetings as needed and represent organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Minimum of 2 years AP, AR, bookkeeping experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years office management and/or administrative experience. 
  • Success in operational and administrative management and coordination.
  • Proven success analyzing operational function of organization and identify strategies in alignment with industry promising practices to ensure high functioning.
  • Experience and comfort working and communicating cross-culturally.
  • Ability to effectively review and manage grants and/or cooperative agreements.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving to support healthy organizational culture.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Google Suit, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks
  • Success and comfort telecommuting.

QUALIFICATIONS/PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with process development and improvement.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience designing and implementing office policies.
  • Experience with oversight of policy and processes compliance.
  • Experience with accrual accounting.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Strong knowledge of and/or experience with non-profit sector.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Compensation: $48,500 - $51,000 (depending on experience)

Benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401k (available after 3-months of employment)

Employment Status: 1.0 FTE

Exemption Status: Exempt

Job Location: Portland, OR (current option of telecommuting)
