ORCHWA provides a diverse range of trainings and CEU opportunities.  ORCHWA will provide a certificate of completion or participation to all training attendees.  Submitting documentation to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) for CHW certification or CHW certification renewal is the full responsibility of the attendee. Due to the high volume of training participants ORCHWA will be unable to  provide documentation for CEUs after two years from the initial date of training.

Training Requirement Updates

ORAL HEALTH TRAINING

Effective May 13, 2019 all traditional health workers that want to be registered with the state on the OHA Traditional Health Worker Registry, are required to complete Oral Health Training. The Oral Health Training is offered online by OHA as a stand alone training. As of 2019, ORCHWA's CHW Foundational Training includes the required Oral Health Training. 

Suicide Prevention Training

Effective July 1, 2023 all traditional health workers renewing certification with the state of Oregon are required to complete a minimum of 3 continuing education units (CEUs) in suicide prevention. Please contact OHA for additional details on approved suicide prevention trainings.
